Recycling The Magical Way, is an entertaining and thought provoking programme using magic as a method of introducing children to the concept of recycling as an alternative to waste disposal. The main focus is to promote a greater awareness of recyclable materials while encouraging them to make recycling a part of their lifestyle by developing a greater respect for the earth while they’re young.
In one part, as they hear about recycling aluminium, they’ll see a soft drinks can magically flatten all by itself. When they shout the magic words “Ready to Recycle!” The can slowly returns to its original (un-recycled) condition. In another part, a newspaper is torn into pieces as I chat about recycling newspapers and saving trees. Then, quicker than they can say “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle,” the newspaper is restored and whole again. The children will never forget that newspapers can be recycled.
Simply stated, the children learn about recycling and energy conservation while being entertained - like magic!
